Cole, 61, died at his home Sunday morning after a lingering illness. Funeral services were conducted at the home, Monday morning with the Rev. Thomas J. Espy in charge. Interment was in Providence Baptist Cemetery with Frank S. Pittman, funeral director, in charge. Mr. Cole had been living in Williamson for the past thirty-two years, moving here from Aledo, Texas. He had many friends, being of a friendly and kind hearted disposition and was a member of the Baptist church, having joined at the age of 12. Mr. Cole is survived by his widow, who was formerly Miss Sarah Alice Wood; two daughters, Mrs. A. Steinheimer, of Williamson, and Mrs. J.A. Segraves, of Griffin; two sons, Gordon Cole, of Clovis, New Mexico, and Jessie Cole, of Williamson; one son, William preceded him to the grave in Dec. 1930; four brothers, J.D. Cole, of Garner, Texas, W.B. Cole, Texas, and W.W. Cole, of Oklahoma, E.L. Cole, Strawn, Texas and 11 grandchildren. Additional Comments: James Leonard Cole was married to Sarah Alice Wood. Sarah Alice was a daughter of Josiah Hick Wood and Pocahontas T. Phillips.
