He was born in Randolph County, Ala., but lived most of his life in Georgia. Mr. Nixon was retired from Carling Brewery after 16 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Merita C. Nixon; his mother, Mrs. Louise Peaden Nixon; daughters, Machandra Story of Zebulon, Marsha "Lorraine" Lassiter of Milner, Fairy Louise Callahan of Senoia, Terry Cochran of Culloden; brothers, W. C. "Sam" Nixon of Concord, Roy L. Nixon of Griffin, Wyatt L. "Doc" Nixon of Griffin, Jack Nixon of Lilburn and Ted Nixon of Doraville; sister, Eloise Harrison of Griffin; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services for Mr. Nixon will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept 1, at Coggins Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dan Todd will be officiating. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. today at Coggins Funeral Home in Thomaston. Coggins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (Concord is in Pike Co., GA) ============================================================== "Thomaston Times" 4 Sept 2002 Thomaston, Upson Co., Georgia Funeral services for Mr. Clyde Junior NIXON, 76, of Concord, were held Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Coggins Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Todd officiating. Burial followed in the Neal Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Nixon died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002 at his residence. Coggins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Nixon was born in Randolph County, Ala. but lived most of his life in Georgia. He was retired from Carling Brewery with 16 years of service. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Louise Peaden Nixon; his wife, Mrs. Merita C. Nixon of Concord; his daughters, Mrs. Machandra Story of Zebulon, Mrs. Marsha "Lorraine" Lassiter of Milner, Mrs. Fairy Louise Callahan of Senoia and Mrs. Terry Cochran of Culloden; brothers, Mr. W.C.
