Cunningham http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00011.html#0002535 July 15, 2007, 7:47 pm The Pike County Journal, Friday, June 2, 1911 In Memoriam Mrs. Claudace Shivley Gregg was born Nov. 5th, 1938. Was married to John D. Gregg Dec 8, 1859. United with the Baptist church at Old Newborn in 1865. Five children were born to them; two sons, W.J. and C.D. Gregg, together wit the husband and father, had proceeded her we trust to a better land. The daughters, Mrs. Ada Williams, Mrs. Annie Middlebrooks and Mrs. Virginia Beauchamp still abide this side of the river. Mrs. Gregg had long suffered much physical infirmity, as a consequence of which for many years she remained at home. But this did not keep her from being interested in every good worth and work. Her children will remember her as a devoted mother, her neighbors will miss one who was ever ready to speak a word of cheer and sympathy or do a kindly deed in time of need. Her sphere in life was not without its sorrows, but they were met bravely and without repining. Her pastor, Rev. Jenkins preached a very appropriate sermon at the home and concluded [at] the grave in the family cemetery. Rest in peace. - A Friend [Transcribed 2/15/2007 Lynn Cunningham] Additional Comments: At Coggin Family Cemetery, Pike County, Georgia: Candis S.J.
