Holmes at her home on Forrest street several days ago has just resulted in her death. She was 93 years of age and had resided here several years, coming to Americus from Pike county. The remains were sent yesterday to Columbus for interment. Surviving her are three sons, J.C. Crawford of Americus, Joe H. Holmes of Columbus and W.B. Holmes of Fort Gaines, besides a daughter, Mrs. C.R. Wise of Cuthbert, and a grandson, E.L. Crawford of Americus. After his death, she was married to James G. Holmes on 22 February 1852 also in Pike.
