The Pike County Journal, December 22, 1960:

John W. Hatchett
Buried at Neal
  John W. Hatchett, 76, died early Thursday at his home at Neal in Pike county.  
His death followed an illness of 10 months.  Until illness forced his retirement 
he operated a grocery store and was a saw miller.  
He was a member of the Christian church at Concord.
  Survivors include his wife, 2 daughters, Mrs. Myrtice Arnold of Miami, Fla., 
and Mrs. Frances Guy of Thomaston; six sons, Robert, John Lee, Clarence, Travis Hatchett, 
all of Concord, Paul Hatchett of Thomaston and Frank Hatchett of Griffin.
  Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 from the Neal Baptist church.  
The Rev. I. G. Johnson officiated.  Interment was in the Neal cemetery with 
Haisten Funeral Home in charge.
