Extract of Pike County Journal Friday February 6, 1891 
(Based on obituary Thomas J. died on January 30, 1891) 
 Thos. J. Howard Dead 
The death of the above gentleman  at his home in the southern portion of the county last Friday will carry sadness to the hearts of many friends in this and other states. Mr. Howard died of pneumonia after a short illness. He was a good man, and his life is being commented upon in very high terms by his many friends.   

The February term of the ordinary Court was held last Monday.  The following business was transacted: B. A. Litsey, administer of Thos. M. Carter, was granted an order to sell property of said estate. A twelve months support was set aside to Mrs. Virginia Kenney. The will of Thos. J. Howard, E. M. Eppinger, Executor, was admitted to probate, as was also the will of Mrs. Jane Jackson, G. W. Jackson and J. B. Mathews, executors.
