Kendrick, an old and respected merchant, formerly of Americus, Georgia, and in latter years doing business at Atlanta. Mr. Kendrick was a native of Vermont, a son of the Rev. Clark Kendrick, deceased, and brother to the Rev. Dr. A.C. Kendrick, of Rochester, and also to Dr. J. Ryland Kendrick, of Poughkeepsie - both eminent Baptist clergymen. Mr. Kendrick was a man of high intregity, and greatly esteemed by New York merchants, with whom he had dealt for 40 years. Additional Comments: Samuel S. Kendrick was married to Emily H. Fryer, a daughter of Zachariah Lewis Fryer, Sr. and Sara Mathews. Zachariah and Sara died in Pike County, Georgia and are buried in the Fryer Cemetery that is now located in Lamar County, Georgia.
