Griffin, Georgia

Major John Knight, of Jenkinsville, an old and prominent citizen of this 
neighborhood, met his death by an accident on Tuesday. He had mounted into his 
buggy, when the horse started suddenly, throwing him out and running over him, 
inflicting injuries from which he soon died. Major Knight had one of the 
finest and largest plantations in Pike.
