Milner, died Monday near Concord, at the home of Messrs. D.R. and R.A. Milner, and Miss Lillie Milner, her children, with whom she had long made her home. The funeral service was held Monday afternoon from the Baptist church in Concord, after which the body was interred in the family cemetery at the home of the late George W. Milner, near Zebulon. Rev. L.P. Glass, her pastor, who conducted the service, made a most appropriate and impressive talk, paying a tender tribute to the remarkable character of this pioneer woman. She was born March 14, 1834, so that she was 84 years old, and as the speaker stated, two such lives would reach back to the very beginning of the government of the United States. She was married to Jonathan J. Milner in 1853, who died about 8 years ago. She was the mother of 15 children, 11 of whom still survive her. She joined the church in 1854 and during the long years which have followed she developed a remarkably fine, sweet Christian character, which made her life a benediction to all who came under its influence, to which her pastor bore testimony. Mrs. Milner was an aunt of Mrs. Robert Mitchell of Barnesville. The people of the county will extend much sympathy to the members of the family who will miss her in the flesh.
