Martin Dead The People of Barnesville and of Pike county learned with great regret of the death of Mr. E.F. Martin which occurred last week at his home near Milner. He was one of the wealthiest citizens of Middle Georgia and he was a man who held the confidence and good will of the people who knew him. He was a man of very quiet disposition and attended strictly to his own business and was theretofore quite successful in his affairs. He had many warm friends who mourn his death, and Pike county has lost one of it’s most valuable and honored citizens [Transcribed 12/27/04 Lynn Cunningham] Note: At Bethel Cemetery, Lamar County, Georgia: Martin, E.F. b. 1 Mar 1820 d. 3 July 1899 Additional Comments: From copy obtained at Old Jail Museum and Archives, Barnesville, Georgia.
