Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia, February 11, 1898 Mr. C.G. Driver Passes Away Mr. Chas. G. Driver, who is well known to nearly all our readers, died at Griffin Wednesday morning. He was a native of Pike county and numbered his friends here by the score. Up until a few years ago, he was a citizen of Zebulon and was one of the prime movers in nearly every business enterprise. A number of times he was elected to positions of trust by the people, which he filled with honor to himself and the county. For the past two years, Mr. Driver has been teaching school in this county but on account of his health he was compelled to give it up. He moved to Griffin about two months ago with the hope of regaining his health and also for the purpose of placing his children in a good school. He continued to grow worse, however, until the end. The funeral services occurred at the Baptist church here yesterday, conducted by Rev. D.J. Christian, of Griffin, after which the remains were interred in the Caldwell lot. Mr. Driver leaves a wife and seven children. The sympathy of our people is extended to them.
