The Pike County Journal. Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia, February 4, 1898

Mr. George Reaves Dies

A telegram was received in Zebulon announcing the death of Mr. George W. Reaves 
of near Rome, Ga. He was born in Zebulon Jan. 1, 1832 and lived here until 1876 
when he moved to Floyd county where he lived until the time of his death. He 
was a brother of Mrs. M.E. Green and Mrs. E.F. Dupree of this place.

Additional Comments:
George W. Reaves/Reeves was a son of Sidney King Reeves and Sarah Caroline 
Nicholson. The two  sisters mentioned were Mattie E. Reeves who was married to 
Lafayette Jordan Green and Biddie Ophelia Reeves who was married to Elijah 
Fleming Dupree. Mattie and Lafayette’s son Sidney R. Green was the editor of 
the Pike County Journal. George was married to Susan B. Buffington.
