Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia, June 24, 1898 In Memoriam Mrs. Fetney Ann Gregg was born Aug. 20th, 1834 and died June 10th, 1898. She was one of two daughters of Mathew Coggin and was married to George Croghan Gregg, a family noted in South Carolina, members of which held high places in army church and state. Her husband was a gallant soldier in the famous 13th Georgia Regiment - was surrendered at Appomattox, and was killed by an explosion of a magazine at Danville, Va., while on his way home. He left a widow with five little children - she met the responsibilities with a devotion that was unselfish and never failing. Four of those children still survive her, one having gone before, as we believe, to a better land. She joined the Baptist church at old Hebron long years ago and was ever afterward a loyal member of the same. Those who knew her best will miss her most. After a life of toil and many sorrows, she rests from her labors. - A Friend “Sleep that no pain shall wake, Night that no moon shall break, Till joy shall overtake, Her perfect calm.” (Transcribed 08/3/03 Lynn Cunningham) This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
