A Good Lady Dies

The death of Mrs. J.W. Ford, which occurred at her home in this place early 
last Sunday morning, has caused sorrow to her many friends everywhere.

She had been sick for only a short while and the attending physicians 
entertained strong hopes of her recovery up until last Friday.

Mrs. Ford was a devout Christian and member of the M.E. church, which she 
joined at the age of nine years. She was kind and generous and had many friends 
among both the young and old people, who enjoyed visiting her hospitable home, 
which is now overshadowed by sorrow..

She leaves a husband, five daughters, and two sons.

Funeral services, conducted by her pastor, Rev. M.M. Walraven, occurred at the 
M.E. church Monday at 11 o’clock.

The community deeply sympathizes with the family in their sad bereavement.

ministration of kindness to us in our recent bereavement - in the sickness and

Sarah S.J. Ford, b. Mar. 28, 1833, d. 22 May 1898

I am not sure of Sarah's maiden name. She was probably a young widow when she 
married Joseph as she brought a young child to the marriage by the name of Anna 
McKenney.
