The Pike County Journal. Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia, December 2, 1898

Mrs. Simmons, mother of Mr. G.A. Simmons, of this place, died at her home in 
Upson county Monday, after an illness of only a few days. She was well known in 
Zebulon, where she has visited on several occasions. She was a Christian lady 
and had many friends. Her death causes much sadness.

Additional Comments:
George A. Simmons was the husband of Mattie Greene, daughter of Judge Hartford 
Greene. Mattie died in June of this same year.
