Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia, September 8, 1899 Mr. Z.T. Scott Meets Sudden Death Mr. Z.T. Scott, a prosperous farmer and prominent citizen of near Hollonville, was thrown from his buggy last Friday afternoon and instantly killed. The accident happened about two miles northwest of Concord. Mr. Scott was driving a very spirited horse when a dog ran out in the road and he fired at it. The report of the pistol frightened the horse and he ran away, throwing Mr. Scott out. In falling, he fell on his head and broke his neck. Mr Scott was the youngest of four brothers who served in the late war in company H Forty-fourth Georgia regiment. He was a widower with several children. His death has caused much sadness. M.- Third Corporal, March 17, 1862. Wounded at Ellison's Mill, Virginia, and Gettysburg, Pa. Served through the War. After the War, lived in Beeks, Georgia, 1898. Scott, Robert M.- Private, May, 1862. Captured at Spotsylvania, Virginia. Paroled March 1865. Scott, W. S.- Private, March 17, 1862. Wounded at Ellison's Mill, and Chancellorsville, Virginia Surrendered at Appomattox, Virginia. After the War, lived in Pike County, Georgia. Scott, Z.T. - Private, May, 1864. Captured at Petersburg, Virginia. Served through the War. Died in Pike County, Georgia., 1899. At Hollonville Cemetery, Pike County, Georgia: Zachry T.
