Pike County Journal & Reporter - Wednesday, February 10, 1082

Mr. Payne
  Mr. Edgar Wilson Payne, 70, of Route One, Milner, Ethridge Mill Road, died 
Saturday, February 6, at Crawford W. Long Hospital in Atlanta.  He was the son 
of the late James Abner Payne and the late Lillie Wise Payne.  Mr. Payne was 
born in Spalding County and had made his home in Pike County most of his life.
  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Sue Cauthen Payne; son, Edgar Ray 
Payne of Griffin and two grandchildren.
  The funeral was Monday in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Griffin.  
The Rev. Pierce Moore and the Rev. W.E. Cook officiated.  Burial was in the 
Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Pike County.  Haisten Funeral Home was 
in charge.
