Absalom Moore, a well known citizen of Pike county and an octogenarian, passed away at his home in the Second district of Pike county Friday afternoon at 5 o'clock after an illness of about two weeks, his death being caused from grip. Mr. Moore was an excellent old gentlemen and had scores of friends who were grieved to learn of his demise. His long life of eighty-five years was a most eventful one and was filled with good deeds. The deceased is survived by his wife and four sons - C.S. Moore, of Columbia, S.C.; Floyd T. Moore, of Atlanta, and J.A. and Alva Moore, of Griffin, and one daughter, Mrs. L.P. Owens, of Barnesville. Funeral services over the body of Mr. Moore will be held at his late home Sunday morning at 9:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. J.E.
