Mrs. Garland Dies; Funeral Saturday

Mrs. Effie Pauline Garland, widow of the late Dr. H.J. Garland, died early 
Thursday night at her home at 129 South 13th street.  She was born in Pike 
County but came to Griffin as a small girl and had lived here since that 
time.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o'clock from Pittman 
Chapel.  The Rev. H.M. Lindsey will officiate and burial will be in Oak Hill 
Cemetery.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Frank S. Patton, of Jonesboro, Tenn.; a 
son, H.S. Garland of Atlanta and a grandson, Walter G. Patton of Jonesboro, 
Tenn.
Her body will remain at Pittman Funeral Home until the funeral.
