Mr. Scott was a well-known farmer and lifelong resident of Pike County and the Hollonville community. He was a close associate of the late Dr. H.P. Stuckey and assisted him in experiments on grape varieties at the Experiment Station. Mr. Scott was a deacon of the Hollonville Baptist Church for 65 years. Funeral services were held at the Hollonville Church this afternoon at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Wilson Walker officiating. Burial was in the Hollonville cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alma Oxford Scott, six daughters, Mrs. Roy C. Sasser, Mrs. Alvin J. Brenan, both of Columbus, Mrs. W.L. Dunlap, Valdosta, Mrs. Perrin Blake, Concord, Mrs. Walker F. Payne, Carmel, California, and Mrs. John H. Hartley, Atlanta. A brother, Dr. E.F. Scott, Decatur, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Haisten Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Zachary L Scott is the son of Joseph M Scott and Rhoda O Spurlin Scott.
