Thos. J. Riggins Dies

Thomas J. Riggins, age 79 years, died at his home in Neal last Thursday 
morning.  He had been in bad health for several weeks.  Mr. Riggins was born 
in Pike County and had spent his long and useful life within two miles of his 
birthplace.  He is survived by two grandchildren and a host of other relatives 
and friends to mourn his going away.  He was converted to the Christian faith 
in early life, joining the Mt. Olive Baptist church, later transferring his 
membership to Neal Baptist church, of which he was a useful member until his 
death.  He was the oldest citizen of his town.  The funeral and interment took 
place at Neal cemetery Friday morning, Rev. J.S. Winn the pastor conducting 
the services.
