Mrs. Susan Ballard died at the old home place near Zebulon Monday morning after a continued illness, in her 73rd year. She was the widow of W. P. Ballard, who died about twenty years ago and was the mother of Mr. A. S. Ballard, of Zebulon, Mrs. Carrie Allen, of Griffin, Mr. J. H. Ballard, of Concord, and Mr. C. W. Ballard, of Zebulon, and the step- mother of Messrs Thos. P. Ballard, W. B. Ballard and James Pat Ballard. She was a daughter of Captain A. S. Allen. The deceased was one of the best women who ever lived in this country. She did all the good she could. She was a kind neighbor,a good friends and a loving and devoted mother and wife. She was loved by all who knew her for her many good deeds. She lived a devoted christian life, having united with the church in early life and being a member of Red Oak church at Williamson at her death. Her excellent influence for good will be missed in the community. Funeral services were held at her home Tuesday conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. R. Allen, of Griffin, and her remains interred in the family cemetery. Truly a good woman has gone to enjoy that reward for which only a human life can sensibly and should be spent for. The family has the sympathy of all in their loss. This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.8 Kb
