Miss Essie Ballard died at her home in Zebulon Monday night. The deceased was twenty-five years of age and a daughter of Mr. Jas. T. Ballard, who died several years ago. She and her sisters Misses Eva Ballard and Mary Will Ballard lived at the old home in Zebulon and have run the Ballard house since their father's death. She is also a sister of Mrs. Allen Foster, of near Williamson. She had been in delicate health for a number of years and death is a relief to her. She was a member of the Zebulon Methodist church and was a christian young woman. She bore her suffering with patience and christian fortitude. Her friends held her in high esteem as a good, true christian young woman. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church conducted by her pastor, Rev. C. P. Marchman. She was buried in the church cemetery. The town and community extend sympathy to the sisters and relatives in their sorrow.
