Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia, April 4, 1902 Mr. Sullivan Dead From the Senoia Enterprise Gazette... Mr. S.G. Sullivan, better known as "Uncle Doc," died this morning about 2 o’clock, after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Sullivan moved to Senoia from Pike County about 15 years ago, but during this time, on account of old age and bad health, our people have seen very little of him, he being compelled to stay at home most of the time. He was 76 years and 3 months of age, he was born in South Carolina in November 1826. He was twice married and leaves two sons by his first wife, Mr. Clark Sullivan, of Pike County, and Mr. Will Sullivan, of Texas. He was married to his present wife, who was Miss Savannah Carlton, in 1867, and since that time has lived in Spalding and Pike counties until about 15 months ago, when he moved to Senoia. He was a consistent member of the Baptist church at this place and loved his church as few people do. In his daily walk and conversation he exemplified the Christ which he loved and followed. All who had the pleasure of knowing him, knew him as an honest upright Christian gentleman, who was always ready and willing to help his friends and neighbors in time of need. He leaves a devoted wife to mourn for him. The older people are swiftly passing away, and how forcibly does this illustrate the true saying; "The old must die," but few there are who are more ready to die than this good old man. As a neighbor there were none better. His remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at this place this afternoon, funeral services being conducted by Rev. J.M. Long.
