W. Oxford Struck by Bolt From The Sky While Working on Farm Near Concord. Concord, Ga., June 28. - Jos. W. Oxford, who operated the Ward Brothers farm here, was struck and instantly killed by lighting this afternoon, while plowing. Two children who were working near him were badly shocked, but have recovered. The mule he was working was also killed. Mr. Oxford was a hard worker and was trying to finish a field before the rain came and for that reason failed to seek shelter. A rough hole was torn in his straw hat where the bolt struck him and his scalp was slightly bruised, but no other abrasions were found on his body. He leaves a wife and five little children who are heartbroken over the sudden calamity which has befallen them. This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.3 Kb
