Pike County Times Zebulon, Ga. Friday, February 13, 1903

Mr. J.B. Bevil, an old and highly respected citizen of this county, died at the 
home of his son-in-law, Mr. J.T. Ballard, near her Tuesday night. He was 78 
years of age and was taken sick last Friday after attending the burial of his 
son Oscar, who died of pneumonia after a very short illness. The funeral and 
interment occurred Wednesday in the Second District, near Hope, Ga., conducted 
by Rev. J.A. Wright
