Friday, May 1, 1903 Ira A. Slade Mr. Ira A. Slade, a son of Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Slade, of Zebulon died at his home in Griffin Monday at 12:30 o’clock. He had been in ill health for a long time and several months ago had an operation performed in Baltimore, from which he had about recovered, but two weeks ago he was again stricken and a complication of diseases set in, resulting in his death. Mr. Slade was thirty-seven years of age, and was born in Quitte four miles north of here, where his boyhood and young manhood was spent. He went to Griffin about fifteen years ago and since then has been engaged in business. Mr. Slade leaves a wife and two children, besides his mother and father, four brothers and three sisters. The funeral conducted by Rev. G.W. Farr occurred at his late home in Griffin Tuesday evening at three o’clock and was attended by a number of Zebulon relatives and friends.
