Friday, November 13, 1903 In Memory Resolutions passed by the order of the Eastern Star in memory of Mrs. E.E. Matthews. On October 28th, 1903*, our Heavenly Father saw fit to remove from earth to heaven the spirit of our beloved sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Mathews. Therefore be it resolved, 1st. That in her death her children have lost their wisest counseller [sp] and best friend, and Molena Chapter a valuable member. Resolved 2nd. That while to our limited human vision a break has been made in the chain of our little army. which can, seemingly, never be filled, may we in human submission learn to say, “Thy will be done,” believing that "God doeth all things well." Resolved 3rd. That we, as an order, extend our heartfelt sympathy to the broken- hearted children and remind them that our Heavenly Father has promised to be a comfort in the darkest hour, and we commend them to His tender mercies. Resolved 4th. That a copy of these resolutions be tendered to the bereaved family, a copy sent to the Pike County Times for publication, and these resolutions be read and adopted by the Molena Chapter No. 24, and recorded on the minutes thereof.
