Mrs. Buchanan, 80, Claimed By Death

Impressive funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ella Wood Buchanan, 80 years of age, 
were conducted this morning at 10:30 o'clock from the Zebulon Methodist 
church.  
Rev. C.B. Drake, the pastor, and Rev. Mr. Horne officiated.  Burial was in the 
Wood Family cemetery on the Zebulon-Barnesville road, with Haisten Brothers, 
funeral directors, in charge.  Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Buchanan was the widow of Mr. Rufus Alonza Buchanan, who served as deputy 
sheriff of Pike county for 25 years before is death in 1934.  She died 
Saturday night at 11:30 o'clock following a long illness.  She died at her 
home near Zebulon.  Mrs. Buchanan was a member of the Zebulon Methodist 
church.  She was born and reared in Pike county.
Surviving Mrs. Buchanan are a daughter, Mrs. A.S. Weaver; and five sons, C.R., 
W.O., J.S., J.H., and W. B. Buchanan, all of Zebulon.
