Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia, May 14, 1897 Resolutions of Respect In memory of Sister Mary Jones who was called to her eternal home, Feb. 6, 1897 She was baptized by Rev. Jacob Buffington in to Bethel church about twenty years ago. In July 1884 she put her letter in at New Hope. We believe she was a conscientious, zealous Christian member. We feel that in the death of Sister Jones that our church has lost a faithful member, her husband a devoted wife, her children an affectionate mother, and her neighbors a loving and sympathizing friend. She leaves a husband and five children to mourn her loss. Whereas, our Heavenly Father in his infinite wisdom has seen fit to call Sister Jones to her eternal home, therefore be it Resolved 1. That we bow in humble submission to God’s will believing our dear departed sister has but passed over the river and is now enjoying the blessing of God’s eternal home. Resolved 2. That while we deeply sympathize with the bereaved family in their loss, may be strive to emulate her Christian example, that we may meet her in the beautiful home beyond. Resolved 3. That these resolutions be spread upon the minutes of our church book, a copy be sent to the family of the deceased and to the Pike County Journal for publication. J.W. Presley, I.A. Abbott, H.C.
