Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia, May 14, 1897 A Tribute of Love and Respect To the Memory of Sister Mary Jane McKinley who Passed over the River of Death Feb. 3. 1897 She united with the church at New Hope and was baptized in August 1894, by Rev. W.T. Buffington. She was devoted to her church and was much loved by all who knew her and all feel keenly the loss sustained in her death. She was universally esteemed by all in the community. She died in the full triumph of a living faith in Savior. Before her death she said she saw heaven clearly before her, and talked very pretty of her home in heaven. Asked all to try and meet her in heaven. She called her children to her bedside and talked to them, and made special requests of them. She leaves a husband and ten children to mourn her loss. Resolved 1. That while we bow in humble submission to the will of our heavenly Father, we realize that our church has ha lost one of its most consecrated members. Resolved 2. That while we believe that she is resting from her labor, may her example inspire us all with higher and purer aims, that we may meet her in the New Jerusalem. Resolved 3. That these resolutions be recorded upon our church book, a copy to be sent to the bereaved family and a copy to the Pike County Journal for publication. J.W. Presley, I.A. Abbott, H.C.
