Waller Passes Away Mr. R.T. Waller, after suffering almost two years of painful illness, departed this life at his home near Zebulon, July 26, 1910, aged 62 years, 7 months and 11 days. Early in his life he connected himself with the M.E. Church South, in which connection he remained until death. He leaves to mourn his departure a devoted and sorely bereaved wife and one daughter, five sisters and one brother, besides a large circle of friends and relatives, but thank God they sorrow not as those who have no hope. His funeral was preached by the Rev. W.W. Childs and his body laid to rest in the family burying ground near his home, attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives. Mr. Waller was a devoted husband and a loving father, kind neighbor and Christian friend. He was a Confederate soldier. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved family and commend them to a covenant-keeping of God, the father. His friend, G.E. Lavender (Transcribed 06/25/03 Lynn Cunningham) Note: Robert T. Waller was married to Lucy A. Buckelew. Lucy was a daughter of Harriet Billingsley and James Franklin Buckelew. Harriet Billingsley was a daughter of Elias Billingsley and Lucy H. Powell. The Billingsley family migrated to Pike County from North Carolina in the 1830's.
