Moore. Beloved Citizen, Buried Sunday Impressive funeral services for Breckenridge Halsey Moore, 59, one of Griffin's most prominent and beloved citizens, who died Saturday afternoon at his home on W. Poplar street, were held from the First Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The services were largely attended and the beautiful and abundant floral offerings testified to the esteem in which Mr. Moore was held by all who knew him. The Rev. Dr. J. W. Quillian, pastor of the church, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Dr. L.M. Twiggs presiding elder of the Griffin district and the Rev. L.M. Latimer, pastor of the First Baptist church. Interment followed in Oak Hill cemetery with Haisten Brothers in charge. The pall-bearers were W.T. Scott, Arthur Digby, C.E. Street, B.B. Brown, E.H. Griffin, W.H. Beck, J. Reece Thaxton and T. Ezra Mann. Mr. Moore was born in Pike county and had lived in this section all of his life, possessing countless friends. He had worked for 35 years with the Griffin Mercantile Company, rising to the position of vice-president of the company. He operated extensive farming interests here and recently had been engaged in the insurance business. He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Miss Frances Moore and Miss Elizabeth Moore, all of Griffin; one son, Henry Halsey Moore, of Portland, Ore; and one brother, Jack Moore, of Newburg, Ore.
