Barnesville, Georgia, August 21, 1890 A Good Man Gone Mr. F.O. Shockley, the father of Mrs. Jackson G. Smith, died at the home Mr. J.G. Smith, Tuesday morning at 8 o'clock, after an illness of several weeks. He was eighty one years old and his death was due to old age. He was a good old man, having lived a consistent Christian life for a long time, and was highly respected by everybody who knew him. The funeral exercises were conducted at Mr. Smith's house yesterday morning by Rev. H.P. Myers, and was attended by quite a number of people. The family have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.
