A. Kendrick Passed to Reward Wed, July 27 Mr. W.A. Kendrick, well knoiwn and highly esteemed citizen of Pike County, died Wednesday night, July 27, at his home two miles north of Zebulon, after an illness of several weeks. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susan Granger Kendrick; four daughters, Mrs. JW Buchanan, of Woodbury, Ga.; Mrs. Minnie Cauthern, of Anniston, Ala.; Mrs. Cora Gresham and Mrs. Fred N Peek, of Zebulon; one son, Mr. R. L. Kendrick, of Griffin; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hoard, Pell City, Ala., and Miss Mary Kendrick, of Zebulon. The funeral was held at the home Thursday, July 28, at four o'clock. Rev. Brown of Milner officiated. Grandson's of the deceased lovingly bore his body to it's last resting place in the family cemetery nearby. Mr Kendrick was seventy-two years old, and was born, and spent his entire life in Pike county. He had been a faithful member of the Baptist Church for forty years. He was a good neighbor, and numbered his friends by all who knew him. He lived as he died a Christian-- leaving his children, whom he left broken hearted, a good example and a beautiful memory".
