Mrs. Buchanan, 84, Dies At Her Home

  Mrs. Lydia Patterson Buchanan, 84, widow of the late Robert Lee
Buchanan, died Tuesday night at her home on the Ellis road.
  SHe was born in Pike County.  SHe had been a resident of Griffin
for the past 32 years.  Mrs. Buchanan was a member of the McIntosh
Baptist Church.
  Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock
from the New Hope Baptist Church in Pike County.  The Rev. Robert 
Jones and the Rev. Price McClung will officiate with burial in the 
church cemetery.
  Mrs. Patterson is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Douglas Scott
of Griffin, Mrs. Gova Henderson of Macon and Mrs. Homer Carden
of Griffin, a son, Mr. Ulman Buchanan, Griffin, eight grandchildren
and nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
  Her body will remain at McDonald Funeral Home until the funeral
hour.
