Buchanan who died early last summer, passed away Tuesday night at 9:30 o'clock at her home on the Griffin-Zebulon highway in Pike county. Mrs. Buchanan had been in ill health since the death of her husband last June. She had been critically ill for ten days prior to her death. A member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist church, she had been living in Pike county for many years. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel Pitts. Funeral services will be conducted from the Mt. Gilead church Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. John F. Rawls, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the churchyard with Haisten Brothers, funeral directors, in charge. Pallbearers will be Charlie Vaughn, Harold McLeroy, Jim Ballard, Edwin Pitts, Arthur Wood and Walter Ballard. Surviving are three sons, W.L. and J.S. Buchanan, of near Griffin, and A.W. Buchanan, of Zebulon; one daughter, Mrs. Leila Green, of near Griffin; 19 grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. File size: 1.5 Kb
