Dr. Colbert Dead
This community was very much surprised and saddened by the announcement of the 
death of Dr. J.E. Colbert at The Rock last Friday. Dr. H. Perdue received a 
message calling him to attend the sick man, and he hastened to his side. Dr. 
Colbert had taken an over-dose of Morphine and all efforts to destroy the 
medicine were in vain, and Friday night he died.

Dr. Colbert was a man of fine stature and was in Barnesville only a few days 
ago, looking well and stout. He was a physician and was a prominent man in this 
section, and his death has caused universal sadness.
