Barnesville, Georgia, July 31, 1890 Dr. Colbert Dead This community was very much surprised and saddened by the announcement of the death of Dr. J.E. Colbert at The Rock last Friday. Dr. H. Perdue received a message calling him to attend the sick man, and he hastened to his side. Dr. Colbert had taken an over-dose of Morphine and all efforts to destroy the medicine were in vain, and Friday night he died. Dr. Colbert was a man of fine stature and was in Barnesville only a few days ago, looking well and stout. He was a physician and was a prominent man in this section, and his death has caused universal sadness. (Transcribed 12/1/02 Lynn Cunningham) File size: 1.1 Kb
