Ross, 73, Dies At Lamar Home Sunday Funeral services for Mr. W.A. Ross, 73, were held from the New Hope Baptist Church in Pike county Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Rev. Mr. Brown, pastor of Milner Baptist church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Mr. Howard. Interment was in the churchyard. Mr. Ross, one of the most prominent farmers in Lamar county, died at his home at 1 o’clock Sunday afternoon, following a protracted illness. Mr. Ross had made his home in Lamar county all his life and was well known in Barnesville. In addition to his widow, Mrs. Susie Harris Ross, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Rogers of Griffin; a son H.G. Ross, of Galveston, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. M.M. White and Mrs. S.E. Shackleford, of Griffin, and a brother J.T. Ross, of Griffin.
