Atlanta Constitution, Dec 1, 1962
Sikes – Mr. Thomas E. Sikes, 757 Hill St., SE, passed away Thursday at a private
hospital.  He is survived by his wife; daughters, Mrs. Nellie Hanks, Decatur;
Mrs. Gladys Phillips, College Park; Mrs. Mary Lanford, Rex; Mrs. Mildred Graves,
Acworth; sons , Mr. O. W. Sikes and Mr. R. J. Sikes of Forest Park; Mr. L. B.
Sikes, Atlanta; Mr. C. W. Sikes, College Park; sister, Mrs. Catherine Cauthen,
Milner; 22 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be
held Saturday at 2:30 from Mt. Zion Baptist Church with remains placed in state
at 1:30.  Rev. Thomas Gilstrap and Rev. F. M. Blevins will officiate. 
Internment in churchyard, Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. 
Abercrombie-Patterson, Forest Park.

Son of John R. Sikes and Martha Louise Harris of Pike County Georgia.
