Minnie was in apparently good health and attended Sunday school and church services that morning. In the afternoon she attended a singing at the home of Lizzie Mangham, at which she was taken sick and died in a few hours. She was a good woman and had many friends among both white and black. She was a member of Fuller Chapel Church and an officer in the Union Hill Sunday School. The funeral was held at the Zebulon colored Baptist church Tuesday afternoon, services conducted by Rev. J.W. Brown, after which the body was lain to rest in the colored Baptist cemetery.
