Smith, 90 years old, Confederate veteran, one of the last Texas pioneers. He was born in Barnesville, Ga., and came to Texas in 1858. He is survived by two sons - F.N. Smith of Qnanah and S.O. [G.O.] Smith of Marshall; a daughter Mrs. W.H. Conn of Longview and a step daughter, Mrs. I. Parker of Beckville. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church, the Rev. W.R. Rosser officiating. Burial was under auspices of the Masonic fraternity, Beckville Lodge No. 922.
