Stafford, for more than half a century a distinguished citizen and leading business man of Barnesville, died today after a brief illness. He was 81 years old and was a Confederate veteran, many years heading Pike county camp. He had been mayor and trustee of Gordon institute and held many positions of trust and honor. The funeral will be held from the Methodist church here tomorrow afternoon at 3 o’clock. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. H.S. Bradley, of Massachusetts and two sons, W.C. and R.A.
