Shivers Dead. Mr. P.C. Shivers died Friday, Sept 13, last after a short illness of fever. He was born in Pike County October 14, 1856. He was married to Miss Janie Carden. Mr. Shivers belonged to the Baptist church, having attached himself to same during the early years of his life and become a faithful and consistent member of same. He left his wife, 4 sons and 2 daughters to mourn his loss, with whom all his friends mingle their sorrow. He was buried with Masonic honors at the old family cemetery, Rev W.U. Kendrick officiating at the services. He was quite a prominent merchant here and an excellent citizen, being one of the city councilmen. A good husband and father and a useful citizen has been taken off. Peace be to his ashes. Mrs. Fannie Williams Dead. Mrs. Fannie Williams who died Sept. 11th inst. Was the widow of the late Dr. Williams who lived and died at Concord. She was 86 years old and a consistent member of the Methodist church. She left 2 children, Mrs. McLendon, of Atlanta, and J.C. Williams, of Concord.
