He was among our oldest and best citizens, being 76 years of age at the time of his death. He was a consistent member of the Baptist church for 48 years, uniting with the Christian church about 4 years ago at Pedenville in which he continued to live a devoted and consistent member. The funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church at Concord on Tuesday by Rev. D.A. Brindle, of Hollonville. His remains were interred in Old Hebron cemetery in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives. He leaves a wife and three children, J.R., H.M., and R.J. Turner and many relatives and friends to mourn his death. Let us weep not, dear friends, for our loss is his gain. (Transcribed by Lynn Ballard Cunningham 9/5/02)
