Mt. Gilead was established in the early 1870,s, built on land given to the 
church by Gabriel Pitts. Mt. Gilead Baptist Church is on Hwy 19 west of 
Griffin, Georgia, just about one mile west of the intersection where 19 and 41 
divide. (This highway is also called Zebulon Road.)
