She was born in Pike Co., Georgia in May 1840.

She married Mathew "Mat" Benard on October 19, 1865 in Pike Co., Georgia.   He 
was born November 5, 1834 in Kentucky; died December 19, 1895 in Meriwether 
Co., Georgia.  He served with Co. I, 2nd Kentucky Cavalry
