Harper and Miss Sallie Lizzie Maples were united in marriage at the home of the bride’s mother in Zebulon. Rev. J.W. Beck performed the ceremony in a most beautiful and solemn manner. Quite a number of the friends of the contracting parties were present from Atlanta and elsewhere, and the presents were numerous and elegant. After receiving the congratulations of their friends the bride and groom were driven to Griffin where they took dinner and left in the afternoon on the celebrated Nancy Hanks for Savannah, Jacksonville, St. Augustine and other points in Florida where the honeymoon will be spent. We wish them a world of happiness. (Transcribed 9/27/02 Lynn Cunningham)
