Mathews - Brooks

Tuesday evening at 7 o’clock, Dr. J.B. Mathews was married to Miss Lou M. 
Brooks. The ceremony was performed by Dr. J.W. Beck in the presence of a few 
friends and relatives of the contracting parties.

The engagement was kept a profound secret and the announcement of their 
marriage will be a surprise to their many friends everywhere.

Dr. Mathews is the efficient clerk of the superior court and is one of Pike’s 
noblest and best citizens.

Miss Brooks is sister of the doctor’s first wife and is a lady of many fine 
traits.

The Journal joins their many friends in extending best wishes.
