School Children Get Married

Tuesday at 11 o’clock Judge W.M. Hartley united Mr. John Huckaby and Miss 
Sallie Mercer in marriage. These young people have been attending school at 
Midway. They became very much smitten on one another and decided that it was 
out of the question to stay single any longer. At recess on Tuesday they 
quietly stole away, secured a horse and buggy, drove to Zebulon, procured 
license and were married as stated above. They are both quite popular in the 
community in which they live and have the best wishes of a host of friends.
